our bedroom wall of awesomeness

My cousin, Jamie, did our family photo shoot last October. She always does a great job photographing our family and no one even whines or complains during our photo shoots with her. Holy cats! Its amazing that its even possible to complete a photo shoot with five people and no whining....

Anyway, this photo was one of my favorites and we had it printed on a 2 foot by 3 foot gallery wrap canvas. Its huge. Loooove how it turned out. We hung it on the wall above our bed and I decorated some wooden/chipboard/paper mache letters and stuck them up there as well. Each letter stands for the first letter in each of our names. (As shown in order on the wall: Macy, Matt, Zoe, Betsy, Jackson.) Our bedroom decor has been a work in progress since we moved here approximately 7 years ago. Pretty much, it was just the last room we ever really tried to decorate. No one ever really sees it so we just didn't bother to decorate it. Well, we DID paint it a royal blue color and after a few years of feeling like we were sleeping in a dark blue cave, we decided to repaint....our room is quite large, and we still have a few bare spots that I'm thinking need a little crafting up. But for now, I at least love this canvas hanging above our bed!

On a totally unrelated note, I'm sortof a minor celebrity now. Well, not really, but yesterday I was on Becky Higgins' blog. Becky Higgins! She posted the photo from our Project Life Kick Off party and also an email that I had written to her along with a link to my blog. And BAM, just like that I had a few thousand hits on my blog yesterday and was signing autographs everywhere I went! Ok, so the autograph part wasn't true, but it was DEFINITELY fun becomming a little bit famous for a day! I think Matt, my adoring husband, was rather jealous of my unexpected blog popularity. He takes his blog stats quite seriously.....

On yet another unrelated note, we have decided to give up eating out completely for one full month. Starting today and through all of February. We're huge suckers for "Hey, you want me to pick something up for dinner while I'm out?" or "I just don't feel like cooking dinner tonight, lets go out." or "Hey, lets celebrate getting on Becky Higgins' blog by going out for dinner." We don't make good choices when we eat out (not helpful when I'm trying to count points on Weight Watchers...), we really can't afford it (but we did get a lot of gift cards for Christmas...), and we don't always really ENJOY eating out with our whole family (Zoe likes to throw everything on the floor, Macy is very squirmy, and Jack refuses to eat most things, so the entire dinner isn't even FUN). So we made the executive decision to give up eating out for one full month. I am fairly certain we'll survive just fine, but it will be interesting to see how many times I have to talk myself out of going out to eat this next month!
